Golf Club Olomouc

  • Ph.Dr. František Kalabis, the present President of Golf Club Olomouc introduced the idea of building a golf course 14 years ago . The course in Veska was built between 1997-2002 and it offers golf-lovers an excellent opportunity to both play and practice. It was designed by the architects M.A. J. Šašek and M.A. K. Pochobradský with the emphasis on a balance between natural contour with slight land shaping so the par 72 master course, the 9-hole par 3 golf academy and large-scale practice areas could be constructed.

  • The master course has 18 holes with irrigated tees, greens and fairways. The tees are positioned for four categories, two for men and two for women and juniors. The design makes the most of the terrain with a variety of contrasting holes, including the beautiful number 8 island hole. The photograph of hole 8 was on the home page of The Czech Golf Federation as the main photo of the website. The hole was awarded the designation of third most attractive hole in the Czech Republic last year.

  • All holes on the course vary in length, contour and shape which is physically demanding of players. Greens with an average area of 600m2 were modelled very carefully, sometimes at multi-levels. They are surrounded by deep bunkers and water hazards.

  • The practice ground consists of 12 places with sheltered tees, 30 places on the training tee area, 1000m2 putting green and 1000m2 chipping green with bunkers. This is the largest scale golf practice area in the Czech Republic. Professional coaches are available for beginners and experienced players and they can recommend different courses for individual players as well as groups with a preferred length, design and difficulty.

  • GOLF CLUB OLOMOUC acquired Family Course Stature in 2006.
