Golf Resort Karlovy Vary

  • The GOLF CLUB Karlovy Vary was founded in 1904 by the "Gentlemen's Fencing Club" in order to expand the offering of sports activities for spa guests. It was originally a 9-hole course covering an area of 2.3 hectares situated next to the present-day Gejzirpark (Geyser Park), in the south part of Karlovy Vary.

  • Due to the increasing popularity of the sport, by 1928 serious consideration was being given to constructing a new 18-hole golf course. For this reason, Mr. F. Gross from the Inter-Club Country in Vienna was invited by the Karlovy Vary Municipal Council to help choose the most suitable site for a course in the vicinity of Karlovy Vary. The locality of Olšová Vrata was chosen from several possible alternatives.

  • The construction plans for the new course were entrusted to the most outstanding expert of that time, the Parisian architect C. Noskowski. The present course was finished under his guidance in 1933.

  • After the reconstruction of the golf course, a new clubhouse and parking facility were added. Following this the irrigation system, tees, and drainage system were reconstructed, and a new maintenance facility was built. As a result, the golf course in Karlovy Vary became one of the most prestigious in Europe. The current golf course is par 72 and is 6,167 m. long.

  • Along with a game of golf, we offer superior support services including a golf shop, a driving range, golf lessons with professional coaches, complete golf equipment and electric or motor cart rental.

  • A curiosity of our golf course is the presence of an endangered species, the Pouched Marmot. The local "marmot golf colony" is the most westerly grouping of the species in Europe.
