Park Golf Club TJ Mittal Ostrava

  • In the immediate vicinity of the Polish border, north of Ostrava, the Šilheřovice castle and its beautiful estate, former residence of the Rothschild family, play hosts to the Ostrava Park Golf Club. One of the Czech Republic's "Big Five", this splendid golf course lies well off the beaten track but is definitely worth the trip there.

  • Laid out in 1970 by Czech architect Jan Cieslar through lush parkland surroundings, the golf course extends through the superb landscaped estate. Former residence of the Rothschild family between 1844 and 1945, Šilheřovice was developed into a typical English style park, with specimens of rare trees from all over the world. Due to its exceptional landscaping, the park is often used by film makers to shoot exteriors. The fairways journey between these magnificent trees, a dominant feature of this championship course, while the first and eighteen hole also enjoy the alluring backdrop of the castle.

  • The friendly clubhouse is beautifully located near the lakeside hunting lodge, where golf parties and events can be organised. Although a private club, Ostrava is open to visitors with a handicap certificate and previous advance booking.

  • This picturesque area of north Moravia, on the Polish and Slovakian borders, spreads over mountain ranges and highlands ideal for hiking. The region includes wide horizons of fertile plains and provides beautiful views to the open scenery of the Polish Silesian lowlands.
